Student Information and Activity
Sustainable Development (SD) Students at Appalachian State University study a wide variety of subjects including, but not limited to, sustainable agriculture methodology and practice, community and regional planning, international development and globalization, and general ecological, environmental and social justice concerns.
Students in the SD Program do indeed study various theories and methods within the general conception of sustainability. However sustainable development, at its heart, is interested in practice, active participation, and people helping people. Our students are engaged in the community and active in many local and regional service projects and events.
